ES – El 24 de abril, 2023, tomé el ferry que me llevaba de mis vacaciones en Dinamarca de vuelta a Alemania, y en autobús en ruta hacia Berlin. Viajando a través de largos estrechos de monótonos pinos y conforme el Sol lentamente decía adiós. Al apartar a vista del camino y mirar hacia mi teléfono, una sola frase que contaba toda una historia llamó mi atención. Dramática, divertida y sin una sola palabra desperdiciada, me pregunté quién estaba detrás de la historia y qué lugar misterioso ella se refería como su «hogar.» Escribí un pequeño mensaje and di «enviar», sin darme cuenta que pronto descubriría lo que hogar significa.

EN – On April 24, 2023, I departed the ferry that had brought me from my vacation in Denmark back to Germany and got on a bus en route to Berlin. I rode through long stretches of monotonous pine forests and as the sun was slowly saying adiós for the day. As I looked away from the scene and down on my phone, a sentence that told a whole story caught my attention. Dramatic, funny, and not a single character wasted, I wondered who had written that and what this place was that she so mysteriously referred to as «home.» I typed a tiny message and hit «send», not realizing that I would soon find out what home was.

ES – El 24 de abril de 2023, mientras la hora azul caía en Groningen, me senté en la biblioteca a esperar que abrieran la sala de cine donde vería la película de esa noche. Diez o quince minutos antes de entrar, el Destino se hizo presente: el primer mensaje de Undine hizo vibrar el teléfono en mis manos. Hoy, tres años después, la hora azul sigue colándose por la ventana cada noche, con ella a mi lado.

EN – April 24, 2023, while the blue hour was falling down on Groningen, I was sitting at the library, waiting for the cinema to be ready for that night’s movie. Ten or fifteen minutes before the film, Destiny called: Undine’s first message made the phone in my hands vibrate. Today, three years later, the blue hour still sneaks in through the window every night, with her by my side.
